Frequently Asked Questions for Milkman’s Daughter

Do you require a minimum guest count to book?

Nope. We will serve one person all the way up to our current max of 200 people.

Do you charge extra for a barback?

All of Milkman’s Daughter’s services include the assistance of a barback! We set ourselves apart by ensuring two people at your event. This means quick and efficient service at your event, plus absolutely no mess while we’re shaking up your drinks.

Can we provide the alcohol?

Yes!

Can you provide the alcohol?

Indiana’s liquor laws are tricky, and as of right now, no. We provide labor and service and do not define ourselves as caterers.

We hope in the future to make this an option for our clients, but in the meantime, all of our services require that our clients purchase their own alcohol bottles.

Don’t fret, though; with the help of the Milkman’s Daughter Alcohol Guide, we help all of our clients figure out the precise amount of bottles that are needed for their event!

Are your bartenders licensed?

All Milkman’s Daughter bartenders have their Indiana Bartending License and have completed the Indiana Server Training Program. We carry our licenses on us to every event and will be able to show it to you or any one who requests to see it.

I have specific drinks in mind for my event — is this OK?

Of course! More power to ya, sis. We LOVE to create new cocktails and mocktails and would enjoy nothing more than helping you build the drink you want. Just as well, if you want a standard or classic cocktail that’s not on our menu, we can do that too! You would be one of our designer clients — make sure to mark that option when filling out our consultation form!

Do you have insurance?

Yes, we have mobile bartenders and event insurance through Insurance Canopy. We go over this with our clients once your date is booked!

Why should we book Milkman’s Daughter?

I’m hosting a private dinner at my home and would like Milkman’s Daughter services, is this allowed?

We absolutely adore private events! In fact, we specialize in them and prefer private property events. The best part is that if your event is held on private property, there are no state-mandated rules to follow.

We've had the pleasure of serving at various private events, including graduation parties, weddings, bridal showers, baby showers, and catered dinners at clients' homes. As a private company, we absolutely love hosting private events and would be delighted to receive any such inquiries!

Do you require a deposit to book?

We do require half up-front to book your date. The final half is due within 72 hours after the event.

Can you batch cocktails for my event?

Unfortunately, in most cases, we can not due to Indiana’s tricky state laws. However, there are some cases in which this is possible. If this interests you, please let us know, and we can supply you with more information about our recipe and mixology services.

I know every event is different, but can you give me an idea of how you come up with the total cost?

For sure! We configure the cost of our services by determining the maximum number of predicted guests, the kind of services you require, and what material/features are needed.

We provide every interested party who fills out our consultation questionnaire with the Milkman’s Daughter Basic Pricing Structure that details every service and item. With that, we lay out three to four quote options that from there you can decide which works best for you.

We want to book your mixology course but don’t have a space — can you help with that?

We have a magnificent list of event spaces that would be willing to host our classes should you need a place! We’d be happy to share that with you.

Do you offer table service?

No, but if that’s what you’re looking for, we can help you find a company that does!

What’s up with the mason jars?

They’re kind of our thing. 🤷🏽‍♀️ During your consultation, ask us our origin story, and you’ll get a better understanding as to why!

Plus, we love the planet over here at Milkman’s Daughter and do everything we can to reduce our carbon footprint while helping our clients do the same.

Plastic cups are easier, and all, but glass jars at your event are better for the earth — meaning it's better for your guests.
